Article on Danish Paper Bindings
This article describes the history of Danish Paper Bindings from the start of the 19th Century to the end of the 20th. Of course paper bindings were common well before the early 1800s, but economic and political issues gave them a popularity boost around the time of the Danish state bankruptcy in 1813.
The time period the article mostly focuses on is from 1920, when August Sandgren opening his own bindery in Copenhagen, and extends until the 1960s when the era of these bindings as commercial products slowed and Danish Paper Bindings became more of a creative outlet and educational tool.
